A MAN who swore at Proserpine magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist, telling him to "get f****d", will remain behind bars until his next court appearance on November 24.

Adam David Seidel was brought to Monday's sitting of the Proserpine Magistrate's Court in police custody, charged with three counts of contravening a domestic violence order, two of common assault, two of possessing restricted items, and one each of possessing a knife in a public place, possessing drugs, failing to properly dispose of a syringe, obstructing police and committing a public nuisance offence.

Seidel's outburst began shortly after he entered the prisoner's dock where he refused to sit down or listen to what the magistrate had to say.

Police prosecutor Elizabeth Smith told police to remove Seidel from the court but he resisted and was forcibly led out.

At 10.50pm he was brought back to the court room and a similar scenario occurred.

"I don't want to listen to the c***t mate," Seidel said to police, telling Mr Stjernqvist to just "hurry up mate" and remand him in custody until another date.

Ms Smith noted "it doesn't sound like he's making an application for bail".

She also said Seidel was likely to face fresh charges for his "carry-on" in the dock.

Mr Stjernqvist said Seidel would next appear in court via a video link with the Capricornia Correctional Centre on November 24, giving him "time to detox, or dry out, or get rid of a bit of attitude".
