Marine art show to have a break

THE Whitsunday Marine Art Show will not be held in 2010.

It will return in 2011.

The event is held in conjunction with the annual Whitsunday Boat and Leisure Show which will also take a break this year.

Art Show coordinator Tony Fossey said the show would be back next year and artists could use the break to create some great new works.

“Artists can take this opportunity to prepare their work for 2011 when we hope a new venue and sponsors will be sourced for this fantastic and popular art show,” he said.

The Rotary Club of Airlie Beach announced late last year that they would be deferring the Boat and Leisure show until 2011.

The show has been a popular event on the Whitsunday calendar over recent time with last year’s event being a finalist in the Queensland and Whitsunday Tourism Awards.
