Maryborough man's alleged hotel rampage lands him in court

A MAN has been charged with wilful damage after an alleged rampage through a motel in Maryborough on Wednesday afternoon.

Maryborough police Senior Constable Matt Walker said the 36-year-old Maryborough man went on an alleged spree of damaging walls through the Royal Centrepoint Motel on Wednesday.

"In his rage he has damaged a light switch and wall," Snr Const Walker said.

Police were called to the motel on Kent Street about 3.50pm.

Snr Cons Walker said the man was acting "aggressive towards police" before he was arrested.

The man was charged with wilful damage.

He is expected to face court in Maryborough at a later date.
