Master Plan on table for Prossie

PROSERPINE and Peter Faust Dam will be front and centre in coming months as Whitsunday Regional Council takes the first steps towards developing a Proserpine Area Master Plan.

Last week, the council formally endorsed Terms of Reference and a Proserpine Area Master Plan Project Steering Committee to kick off community consultation which would focus on developing a Proserpine Sustainability and Future Growth Master Plan.

Taking a seat in the committee was Division 3 councillor John Collins, who said the group would review and provide input on ideas the community brought forward during the consultation period.

"Council will fully inform and engage with experts, individuals, business, groups and the wider community to ensure we identify and capture their ideas and vision,” he said.

"I am proud that council has embraced creating a vision for the growth of Proserpine and Peter Faust Dam and will explore all opportunities for diversity within our region.”
