McDonald takes out AFL tipping comp

AIRLIE Beach Music's owner Steve McDonald has taken out the Whitsunday Times AFL tipping competition for 2013.

The mad Geelong Cats fan was thrilled with his win which will see him take home an entertainment package from Betta Home Living in Cannonvale.

"Tipping Geelong every week gave me 18 wins for the year and I'm really excited about the team heading into the finals. We are hitting top form at the right part of the season," he said.

"Obviously it's great to win and it's a great competition to be involved in. I was involved in the first year of the competition and came back this year and it turned out to be a pretty good decision," he said.

McDonald was the overall winner on 148 points, six ahead of last year's winner Don Cameron from Master Butchers Whitsunday (142) and third placegetter Team Kerr from Ray White Whitsunday (141).

"I have had plenty of positive response from the community about my tipping and I think it's a great way to connect with customers."
