FLYING SOLO: Mat McHugh will return to Magnums for his first solo performance in Airlie.

McHugh is back at Magnums

FOLLOWING a recent string of renowned artists docking on the shores of Airlie Beach, Magnums Hotel is about to welcome another one.

Mat McHugh may be better known for his work with the Beautiful Girls but he'll be bringing his solo show to Airlie next week.

With nearly 120,000 likes on Facebook, Mat has built a following throughout Australia and the world with his chill acoustic jams.

Magnums will welcome Mat in stripped-back mode, giving fans an up-close and personal show.

Mat said he felt like he had made some of his best music recently and that's what would be on show.

"I'm super excited to have the chance to go out on the road and play all these songs. Particularly the songs from Waves," he said.

"I feel like it's my favourite album that I've made and I really can't wait for people to hear what it sounds like live.

"I plan to keep things pretty simple and raw. I'll just be playing and singing some songs. I predict that it will be full power."
