McLeish getting ready for championships

LOCAL motorcycling star Andy McLeish has been training hard down south ahead of the fourth and final Whitsunday Moto Sportsclub championship, which will take place on Sunday, November 16.

McLeish has competed in both the Bundaberg and Gladstone club race days over the last fortnight.

In Bundaberg McLeish raced in the pro open 450cc class and bagged a first and two seconds from three races.

In Gladstone last weekend McLeish competed in the pro open 450cc class and again nabbed a first and two seconds from three starts, earning him second overall.

McLeish also rode in the pro lite 250cc class and came third.

McLeish said he was continuing to prepare for the 2015 season, and would return to the Whitsundays to take part in the supermoto club day next Sunday.

Whitsunday Motosports Club president Andrew Auld said the Club Championships next Sunday would be the last chance to have a race before Christmas.

Gates will open at 7am, practice and qualifying rounds begin at 9.30am and the race will start at 11am.

Spectators are welcome.
