Meet Fletch and Hindy
NEW South Wales may have lost another State of Origin series but that doesn't mean the Whitsundays can't welcome a couple of Blues legends to town.
The Fletch and Hindy Show will hit Airlie Beach on Saturday for a night of questions, stories and a whole bunch of laughs.
Nathan Hindmarsh and Bryan Fletcher are both former Australian rugby league representatives and will open up on all things footy in an effort to support grassroots football and in this case, the Whitsunday Brahmans and their junior club.
Hindmarsh is an Eels legend of more than 300 games and said audiences should expect anything on the night.
"We have a chat; obviously we take questions from the audience. It's always fun. You never know what you're going to get," he said.
"Sometimes we get questions on a serious line but mostly we enjoy a laugh. It's very casual.
"Be prepared for anything."
Whitsunday Brahmans spokesperson Paul Maxwell said the club expected a big turnout to the event.
"We are anticipating a full house," he said.
"For anyone who has watched the Matty Johns Footy Show on Monday nights, they'd know how funny these two blokes are."
Maxwell said it was an important event in supporting the Brahmans.
"The night is part of our ongoing fundraising to help maintain the Whitsunday Brahmans as the number one rugby league club in the Mackay and district rugby league comp," he said.
The night is an informal evening with the boys, with stories and interactions between them and the audience.
It will be the first time they've brought their show to the Whitsundays and tickets are selling fast. Anyone interested in attending the event is urged to get tickets now to avoid missing out.
There will be a licensed bar and finger food included in the ticket price.
