Meeting 21st century demands
ACCORDING to Proserpine State High School's Junior Awards ceremony, the future is in safe hands.
PSHS principal Don McDermid said the Year 7 Innovative Learner Award was all about acknowledging students prepared to tackle 21st century learning.
Award recipient Jack Dwyer was praised for demonstrating an ability to adapt to the challenges presented in the modern world.
"Jack's efforts have seen him consistently achieve excellent results across all subject areas,” Mr McDermid said.
Junior Secondary Leadership Teamwork Award recipient Jonathan Naranjo was recognised for the significant behind-the-scenes work he does for the school.
Mr McDermid said Jonathan possessed extraordinary leadership ability.
"Jonathan strives to uphold the leadership ideals of the school and is certainly a positive role model for his peers.”

Year 8 Encouragement Award was given to Lawrence Simpson and
the Year 9 Citizenship Award was won by Lachlan Jensen.
