Milestones all round for Dance Connection

WHITSUNDAY Dance Connection has not only marked 20 years in business this year, they've also just welcomed the 10 year anniversary of dance teacher/choreographer Paula Bradley.

Paula first jumped on board when principal dance teacher Jenny Featherstone was having her son and needed a second a pair of hands to help her run the burgeoning studio.

Jenny said she had nothing but praise for the Proserpine born and bred teacher.

"When she stepped in, she came with a whole heap of fresh new ideas. She picked up the reins and kept going," she said.

Although Paula moved away, completing both a bachelor and diploma of dance, she was quickly scouted by the studio when she returned to town. It's a passion for the craft that has filtered into her work - as Jenny quickly noticed.

"I'm totally in love with Paula's choreography, it's beautiful - in all genres," she said.

"She's a very passionate teacher and she's wonderful with children.

"The students love her but she knows how to keep them in line at the same time."

Whitsunday Dance Connection teaches kids aged 4-18 in jazz, tap, ballet and modern dance and has grown to include a third dance teacher, Chez Rock, and administrator, Samantha Camm.

"I started (dancing) when I was five and I'm still going. If you're doing something you love everyday, it doesn't feel like work," Jenny said.
