Miss Rodeo home at Bowen River

THE population of the sleepy mining town of Collinsville got a huge boost, if just for a weekend, with the running of the annual Bowen River Rodeo and Campdraft.

For some it was a chance to have a beer and catch up with mates, for others it was a chance to compete, but for the winner of the Miss Rodeo Australia quest, Emma Deicke, it was something else.

It was a coming home.

Emma, from Collingvale Station near Proserpine, represented the Bowen River Rodeo Association when she was crowned as Miss Rodeo in Warwick earlier this year.

Dressed to the nines in her custom Miss Rodeo Australia chaps and cowboy hat, Emma offered an impressive sight for rodeo fans attending the Collinsville event.

Since her crowning in February, Emma has toured the nation as the 2017 Miss Rodeo Australia and finally she had the chance to strut her stuff on home soil.
