Missing jet ski rider found after major search in Bowen

THE RACQ-CQ Rescue crew were tasked by Queensland Water Police to join Bowen's Volunteer Marine Rescue to search for a 16 year old male jet ski rider who had failed to return from a morning outing yesterday.

The young man was located off the coast by VMR shortly after the helicopter had begun an aerial search pattern from Bowen and was towed back to Bowen by a marine vessel.

Just before midnight on Sunday night, the crew flew to Moranbah to transport a young obstetric patient to Mackay Base Hospital.

On return to Mackay, the crew then proceeded to Bowen Hospital to transport an elderly man to Mackay Base Hospital for treatment for a number of serious medical conditions.

At 4.30pm Saturday the RACQ-CQ Rescue helicopter was called to a property 105kms South of Mackay, west of Clairview, where a 23 year old man had been injured.

The patient who is a resident of Mackay's Northern Beaches was working with horses on the station when he was thrown from the horse he was riding.

On arrival at the station, the medical crew on board the RACQ-CQ Rescue helicopter provided pain relief to the young man and assessed his condition, preparing him for flight.

The RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter crew then arrived at Mackay Base Hospital just before 7pm where the 23 year old underwent further tests and treatment.

On Friday the flying trauma team received an urgent call to retrieve a critically ill woman from Daydream Island in the Whitsundays.

The RACQ-CQ Rescue helicopter service crew were called to five tasks over the three-day period.
