Proserpine under-13s played two games on Saturday, smashing Magpies Black with an 8-0 win before going down in a great game against Country Red 4-2.

The first game against Magpies opened up early when Hunter Mansfield broke straight through the defence to score the opening goal in the second minute.

The second goal came in the twenty-eighth minute from Ben Cornish from outside the goal box.

In the second half Proserpine dominated control of the ball and good teamwork resulted in three goals by Hunter Mansfield, two goals by Ben Cornish and one goal by Malachi Lane. Man of the match was awarded to Ben Cornish, with his stunning second goal scored directly from a corner.

The second game was a tougher affair with both Proserpine and Country Black both coming into the game undefeated.

Proserpine started strong and a well timed pass from Hunter Mansfield put Malachi Lane in position for a goal in the second minute but at half time Country led 2-1.

Country put the game away in the twenty-eighth minute with a forth goal as Proserpine came very close but finally ran out of time, with Hunter Mansfield named man of the match.
