Ute rolls multiple times into roadside bushland
A WITNESS has reported seeing a ute leave Caloundra Mooloolaba Rd before overturning a number of times into bushland.
Paramedics were called to the Meridan Plains scene about 10.30am by a motorist who was travelling behind the ute.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a 55-year-old man driving the ute was unable to get himself out of the stricken vehicle after it came to rest on its side about 30m from the road.
"He was hanging by his seatbelt," the spokeswoman said.
Firefighters used hydraulic cutting tools to free the man about 40 minutes after the crash was reported.
He was taken to Nambour General Hospital for treatment.
