Muso Keiran marries his ‘inspiration’
WELL-KNOWN Whitsunday musician, Keiran McCarthy, married his love of four-and-a-half years in early November, at a beachside ceremony held in Airlie Beach.
Keiran and Janice McCarthy met four years ago at KC's Grill and Bar.
"I was playing a gig that night at KC's and Janice was there. We got talking and soon developed a romance," Kieran said.
Having the ceremony at Airlie Beach was important to both Kieran and Janice, as the picturesque region has stolen their hearts.
"I've lived here for 27 years, and Janice has been here for eight," Kieran said.
"We got married on the foreshore, and then had drinks afterwards at Capers, it was a great night."
The guest list of 180 people included family members who travelled all the way from Victoria and New Zealand, to share the special day with the happy couple.
"My family came up from Victoria, and Janice's family travelled from New Zealand," Kieran said.
"My three children and Janice's two children were in the wedding party."
The guests were also in the right place at the right time, as the wedding took place just after the Airlie Beach Festival of music, where Keiran was performing.
"I played two shows over the Music Festival, which was great. A lot of our friends and family came along to watch," he said.
Romantically, Kieran said his wife was a constant source of inspiration, and that he wrote a special song for the wedding.
"She inspires me all the time. For the wedding I wrote a song called 'Under the Fig Tree', it's up on YouTube right now," he said.
While the happy couple spent a few days relaxing on Daydream Island after the wedding, a trip to Vanuatu is also on the cards.
"In January I have some gigs at some resorts in Vanuatu, so that will be our honeymoon," Kieran said.
Keiran and Janice McCarthy married on November 11 on the foreshore.
