New home for JPs after centre’s fire

OUR local Justice of the Peace volunteers were left homeless by the Whitsunday Shopping Centre blaze, but have now found a new headquarters at Cannonvale Library.

JPs in the Community Program coordinator Ivan Conway said the signing centre offered a number of services.

"A lot of people are seeking JPs mainly in the area of witnessing documents and certifying documents," he said.

Mr Conway said the move to the library wouldn't impact on the services offered "in any way at all".

"I think it's going to enhance it because people are going to be aware that we now have an established location," he said.

JPs will man the library from 11.30am to 1.30pm on Tuesday and 1.30-4.30pm on Thursday.
