New look for an old favourite
THE condemning of the Cafe 22 building on Main St has forced Selena Clancy Beauty to pack up and get going.
Get going, that is, to a brand new shop right next to the Central Hotel.
Ms Clancy said she lost seven weeks of trade in the wake of Cyclone Debbie and has been at the new shop for the past two weeks.
A lot of work has gone into the fitout but Ms Clancy said the biggest problem was actually finding a shop.
"Our whole main street has been destroyed and is a mess," she said.
"I needed somewhere where I could set up and not have to do too much to the building."
Ms Clancy said since the relocation the business "has not stopped".
"I have been so busy, which is great," she said.
"Everyone is stressed, the whole community is stressed, so I think that little bit of escape and to chill for whether it be 15 minutes or two hours is what people need.
"People are enjoying that little bit of normality and (I enjoy) helping people feel better about themselves."
