New Maccas now open

THE grand opening of the new McDonald's restaurant in Cannonvale on Sunday was deemed a success by owner Mike Muller.

Mr Muller said the store was busy throughout the day which was encouraging signs for the future.

“I'm really hoping our sales are maintained all the way through until Christmas as we hope to grow as the area around us grows.”

The first customer served at the new restaurant was 15-year-old Scott Wallace who had been waiting since 4.40am to ensure he was the first person served at 6am.

Scott also remained in the restaurant until he was also the first person served on the regular menu at 10.30am.

Mr Muller said it was great to see so much support from the community thus far.

“We were really happy with it,” he said.

“Our staff coped really well and it's all contributed to by good organisation from our management team.”

Mr Muller said one encouraging aspect was the high rate use of the Drive Thru service.

“It's a novelty to have a Drive Thru here and people are utilising it.”

Mr Muller also said it was encouraging to have positive feedback from customers, especially in relation to the low profile exterior signage.
