New manager on Daydream Island

GREG Betty has been appointed as new resort manager at Daydream Island.

The appointment to the newly created position follows the resignation of general manager Andrew Keating who will leave Daydream at the end of May.

Mr Keating was the general manager of Daydream for almost two years.

Daydream Island owner Vaughan Bullivant passed on his gratitude to Mr Keating and his wife Alison for what they had achieved in the last two years and more recently for their amazing efforts to keep Daydream in one piece amidst the fury of Cyclone Ului.

Mr Bullivant also said it was a great opportunity for the new resort manager, Greg Betty.

He has a degree in Marine Biology and has worked in the Whitsundays for the last four years.

For the last two years, he has worked on Daydream as the Activities and Entertainment Manager where he has implemented a number of key initiatives.

He has also been a member of the Executive Committee on the island and is no stranger to running the island in the general manager's absence.

Greg will be responsible for the day to day operation of Daydream Island as well as the welfare of all guests and staff on the Island.

He will report to Phil Quinn who has taken on the responsibility of Owners Representative.

Phil was previously the Chief Financial Officer on Daydream Island.
