New purpose-built rooms to open door for our locals
TWO new vastly different purpose-built rooms are open for business at the Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre.
On Tuesday the Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil the new retreat and enterprise rooms - built in the former op shop and refurbished for use by community groups and outreach services.
The retreat room is designed to make a person, family or child comfortable when they are feeling at their most vulnerable in counselling or therapy sessions.
While the enterprise room is fitted with modern teaching fixtures ideal for AGMs, training or workshops.
"We want to entice more specialised services to the region like counsellors, therapists, workshops, adult education and information sessions to meet community needs," Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre executive officer Rebecca Woods said.
