New taste to Airlie

A NEW taste sensation has touched down in Airlie Beach.

Garuma is bringing great food, quality coffee, boutique accommodation and a beautifully outfitted bar.

Take a seat in the al fresco dining area and enjoy the fresh, locally sourced cuisine with a Mediterranean twist.

"We're trying really hard to achieve a fresh menu with organic options," director Sarah Gorrie said.

"For example, we use local suppliers The Prickly Pineapple for produce and other suppliers for all meats and seafood."

"Garuma" comes from the Aboriginal word for bream fish, bringing with it a special meaning for the team.

"We like the way the indigenous people survived off the land and that matches our belief in bringing fresh food to the table and our style," Ms Gorrie said.

In eight to 12 weeks you can even enjoy these delights, prepared by head chef Patrice Duverger, on the upstairs balcony overlooking the iconic Airlie Beach main street.

Ms Gorrie said Garuma was dedicated to great service, with staff training a top priority.

"We've already opened for breakfast and lunch, and we'll be opening for dinner soon," she said. "We've done it that way so our staff are well trained."

The Garuma street-side coffee bar is a brilliant option for anyone on the go, with All Press air-roasted coffee beans ensuring a premium product.

Garuma welcomes locals and travellers, pets and families, so head on down for a fantastic experience.
