New TW board to be announced

TOURISM Whitsundays will hold its annual general meeting tonight at the Reef Gateway Hotel where its new Board will be announced following the recent election.

Chief Executive Officer Peter O'Reilly said four positions were to be filled, with the 2 year terms of Adrian Bram, Al Grundy, John Nayler and Jeff Aquilina finishing.

“Tourism Whitsundays members were invited to vote for the four positions on the board, those ballots were counted by our Auditors Connole and Carlisle and will be announced tonight at the AGM,” Mr O'Reilly said.

Adrian Bram, Al Grundy and Jeff Aquilina are all standing again, along with Debbie Savy, Craig Ross, Jane Hermann, Georgina Watson and Nick Talbot-Price.

Tourism Whitsundays Board positions are voluntary and run for two years, with half the board up for re-election at any one time.

Executive positions are selected annually by the Board, and are expected to be decided at a meeting of the new Board tomorrow.

“The AGM is also a chance to review the achievements of the past year, and look forward to our marketing strategies for next year,” Mr O'Reilly said.

Only financial members of Tourism Whitsundays are eligible to attend the AGM.
