NiE Royal Flying Doctors
FOR people who live, work and travel in rural and remote Australia, gaining access to health and medical care, such as doctors, nurses, dentists or emergency services, is made easier by the dedicated team of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
The organisation was established in 1928 by Reverend Dr John Flynn, (his picture is on the $20 note), to bring important health services to remote and regional Australian communities.
In its 88 year history the RFDS has become a comprehensive aeromedical organisation, servicing people over an area of 7.3 million square kilometres.
