Night out for girls

GRAB your "single gals" and join Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda this Saturday night at Whitsunday Arts and Cultural Centre.

Doors open at 7pm and ladies will be greeted with a cosmopolitan shot on arrival.

Set to be the ultimate girlie night out, there will be light finger food, topless waiters, a lingerie parade, an interesting toy display, games and a prize for best shoes.

Whitsunday Arts and Cultural Centre advertising and communication representative Sophie Wellard said both Sex and the City films would be screened.

Sex and the City was revolutionary because it was so relatable that both teenagers and senior citizens could cringe and cry along, even if they weren't A-list Manhattanites with wardrobes full of

Manolos.

Ambitious, complicated women saw the best and worst parts of themselves in selfish, enterprising Carrie, brash, non-judgmental Samantha, prissy, romantic Charlotte, and uptight, authentic

Miranda.

They were real, and they were unlike any women seen on television.

Then came the first Sex and the City movie in 2008 and the second in 2010.

Love it or hate, Sex and the City makes the ultimate girls night out.

Get dressed up for a night of laughs and fun - you never know, your Mr Big may join the fun after 10pm.
