No land swap

TO THE people who suggest that the many who oppose the land swap in Airlie Beach should come up with an alternative plan. Why should we?

This land is zoned by the Queensland Government for open space and recreational use, not development, and recent events show that, despite being used as a temporary car park, it works very well for the community events.

During the Reef Festival it was the venue for live entertainment, and now with schoolies week, it is again the venue for entertainment.

When this site is no longer needed as a car park, it just needs some turf and shade trees to revert back to its intended use - as parkland.
