MARK Geyer's NRL career was littered with controversy but all topics and talking points will be on the table when he takes the microphone for Saturday night's Ball or Nothing Sportsman's Dinner.

Geyer, who enjoyed a star-studded career with the Penrith Panthers, said nothing would be off limits for the Logan's Adventure Playground fundraiser event at the Reef Gateway Hotel.

"It's open book. I had a pretty tumultuous career on the and off the field so I'll be touching on everything," he said.

"It will be a bit different to most people guest speaking because nothing will be off limits.

"Origin is around the corner and that would be topical up there as well."

Geyer played more than 180 NRL games and also represented both New South Wales and Australia.

During that time he endured a series of suspensions and also battled a publicised drug problem.

In May 2010 he spoke out about his mid-career drug and alcohol battle and how it almost shut down his career.

The saga, which lasted from 1992-1995, come about as a means of dealing with the loss of his best friend and former Penrith team-mate Ben Alexander, who died in a car accident in 1992.
