Brent Tate wins Cowboys Members' Player of the Year
WITH the Cowboys enjoying a four-match winning streak, centre Brent Tate gave his supporters more reason to cheer after winning the Members' Player of the Year award yesterday.
The Queensland representative won the majority of votes cast by the Cowboys' 11,000-plus members, to have his name engraved on the club trophy for the first time.
He finished ahead of his Maroons teammates, and previous winners, Matthew Scott and Johnathan Thurston.
"It's a huge privilege to win this award," Tate told hundreds of fans at North Queensland's annual members' carnival.
