NSW has 'the best backline'

BLOCKBUSTING Blues winger Akuila Uate has hit back at talk Queensland will dominate this year's State of Origin series, saying New South Wales has "the best backline".

Uate believes enigmatic players Jarryd Hayne and Michael Jennings are ready to produce the goods in rugby league's toughest arena against Queensland's world class backs.

"We've got the best backline," Uate said, despite the fact the Maroons have Australian representative backs Cooper Cronk, Johnathan Thurston, Billy Slater, Darius Boyd, Justin Hodges and Greg Inglis in their line-up.

Uate said he was confident he could produce his renowned running to counter-attack the kicking games of Cronk and Thurston.

"I'm not intimidated by anyone," Uate said.
