NSW’s wicked track
WHITSUNDAY Motosports Club members competed in the 2015 Graham Boyd Motorcycles Australian Supermoto Titles on a purpose built track around the foreshore of Newcastle.
The common response from Whitsunday riders was "what a freaking wicked track". Whitsundays' Andy McLeish, the reigning number two in Australia, battled it out against two top British riders only to take home the plate number two once more.
McLeish also qualified for the Dash for Cash race, which was for the top 12 solo riders, where he annihilated his competitors and took home the prize money.
Female rider Georgia Murray took out Men's S5 Clubman and placed 3rd in the S10 women's unlimited class. Steve Darmanin placed ninth in the S2 class and fourth in the S3 250cc class; he also qualified for the Dash for Cash and took out fifth place riding the only 250cc in a field of 450cc bikes.
Youngster Brett McLeish placed seventh in the S3 Class. Aaron Barr had an awesome weekend placing 17th in the S2 Premium class in a massive field of elite riders, knocking time off every race.
Marty Taylor, Mungo McMurtrie, Craig McDermott and Andrew Auld all had a ball racing the wicked street circuit.
