Oliver sure to delight
REHEARSALS are underway for Proserpine State High School's musical production of Oliver.
Director Jenny Napier said this year's production will also be a way to welcome Year 7s to the school.
"Normally I only do Year 9 to 12 in productions, but this time I'm having Year 7 to 12," she said.
Rehearsals are already well under way for the main show in early May, having started on the second day of school.
Students are giving up lunch hours, after-school hours, and even weekends to make sure the musical is a smash hit.
"We're running about 12 hours of rehearsals a week," Mrs Napier said.
The show won't be a half measure, with choreographers, an artist, professional mentor musicians and a former student, now a sound and lighting engineer.
"It's the favourite Oliver Twist," said director Jenny Napier. "It's a community and extended Proserpine High School family production," she said.
