Man killed, couple seriously injured in highway crash

UPDATE: Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash on the Darling Downs that killed a 58-year-old Dalby man a seriously injured an elderly couple.

Two vehicles collided on the Bunya Hwy, 20km north of Dalby about 4.40pm.

The Dalby man, who was travelling in the northbound lane, died at the scene.

A man and a woman, believed to be in their 60s, were taken to Dalby Hospital with serious injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

THURSDAY 8.20PM: One man has been killed and a couple seriously injured in a crash near Bell, about 20km north of Dalby.

Emergency services responded to the two-vehicle Bunya Hwy accident this afternoon, with reports of a man being entrapped in his vehicle.

A Dalby man, 58, has died, and a man and a woman, believed to both be in their 60s, have been taken to Dalby Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The crash is the latest in a series of fatalities on the region's roads, with a man killed on the Warrego Hwy at Gowrie Mountain earlier this week when his car and a truck collided.
