One woman dead, another injured in horror highway crash

A 24-year old woman has been killed in a crash on the Gold Coast's Palm Beach.

Just before 6pm emergency services were called to the intersection of the Gold Coast Highway and Thrower Drive where a station wagon had collided with a traffic light.

The 24-year-old female passenger of the vehicle was declared dead at the scene.

The 29-year-old female driver was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with serious injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident.
