Our music festival needs you

THE Airlie Beach Music Festival brings hundreds of visitors to the region, and is perhaps the most popular event on the Whitsunday calendar.

The mammoth festival is organised predominantly by Gavin 'Butto' Butlin, and he needs your support to ensure this years festival is as big as ever.

"I am inviting 100 businesses and couples to join our 100 club. For $2500 per couple, or $3000 for a business you will get two VIP tickets for the next three Airlie Beach Music Festivals, all alcohol and food included, two dress shirts with a 100 club logo and you will also receive 20% off all future ticket purchases from 2018, for the lifetime of the festival," Mr Butlin said.

"We just need to get some funds raised so we can start booking bands. We have heaps that are interested in being a part of our festival.

"We have picked the quietest weekend of the year, the first weekend of November, and now it's one of the busiest.

"This event will bring upwards of $33 million dollars over the next five years, and five accommodation houses are already fully booked over that weekend for this year."

Some of the bands on the 2016 set list include Troy Cassar-Daley, The Ramones, Chain Gangajang, Masters Apprentice and The Divinyls, with negotiations continuing with Crowded House, John Butler, Midnight Oil and Hilltop Hoods to name a few.

"We will be launching the 100 club at the Reef Gateway Hotel on February 17. I'll have a powerpoint display and will be able to answer any questions from potential club members. For businesses, their donation will be fully tax deductible, so it's a win-win.

"This kind of deal is unheard of. VIP tickets are normally $1000 each, and you will be getting two VIP tickets for the next three festivals for just $2500."
