Page spreads community kindness

FOR Cheméne Warden, nothing beats the feeling of helping others.

Passionate about encouraging community kindness, Ms Warden wanted to create an outlet for others in the Whitsundays to share the love - and she's done that through leading by example.

Last week, Ms Warden bought a selection of Finding Dory merchandise to donate to a family or service in need.

Posting her purchases and plan on the Whitsundays Buy Swap and Sell Facebook page, people were immediately moved.

"I had a lot of people telling me I'd done a lovely thing and said they wanted to see more kindness in the Whitsundays so I thought why not make a page where people can see it?" she said.

On Saturday evening, the Whitsundays - Random Acts of Kindness Facebook page was born and in just a few days more than 800 Facebook users have jumped on board.

Ms Warden said she hoped the page would motivate people to perform their own random acts of kindness.

"I think everyone feels good when they give, especially when they know it's working and they can see it working," she said.

"It links the community closer together."
