Parking permits can be booked on council app

THE PAYSTAY app and website will soon be able to accommodate parking permit bookings.

From July 1, Mackay motorists will be able to book their permits for paid car parking in the city centre using PayStay.

The app was previously limited to daily bookings, but the services have since been expanded to include permits.

To book a permit, simply register or log in to the PayStay app or website, or phone the PayStay call centre and select the time period for the permit, which range from one month to 12 months.

Your permit will be activated as soon as your booking is lodged.

There is no need to display a sticker or paper work, council’s systems will identify you as a permit holder via your car’s number plate.

You can also set a reminder through the app for the cost of a text message to advise when your permit is about to expire so you are not caught out.
