OVER 40 keen go-karters took to the track for the Whitsunday Motorsport Club's race meet at Whitsunday Raceway on the weekend.

Sunday was full of fast and furious karting action with riders from the Whitsundays facing off against competitors from all over North Queensland.

The club is holding a come and try day this Saturday, June 16, from 10am-3pm.

This weekend's session will provide a safe and friendly atmosphere for anyone to come and try go-karting. It will also serve as practice for those drivers who are gearing up for the Great Barrier Reef title meeting which the club is hosting on August 11-12.
