Elderly woman struck by reversing caravan in Bowen

UPDATE: An 80-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a caravan in Bowen.

Bowen Police officer-in-charge Craig Shepherd said the elderly woman was knocked over by the reversing caravan.

She has been transported to Bowen Hospital in a stable condition.

A Queensland Ambulance Services spokesman said paramedics treated the woman for cuts to her arms as well as hip and ankle injuries.

Police inquires are continuing.

EARLIER: A woman has been seriously injured after being struck by a caravan in Bowen.

Paramedics were called to the scene near the intersection of Santa Barbara Pde and Hay St at 1.22pm.

A Queensland Ambulance Services spokesman said the woman was being treated at the scene for cuts to her arms as well as hip and ankle injuries.

She is in a serious but stable condition.
