Western Force still a, ahem, force to be reckoned with

THE Western Force might be in last place overall on the Super Rugby ladder, but Brumbies flanker David Pocock believes the Perth franchise will offer a stern test at nib Stadium tomorrow night.

He was quick to point out that, despite their ranking, the Force has beaten last year's champions the Waratahs twice this year.

The Brumbies, second in the Australian conference, have lost twice to New South Wales, with Pocock saying the Force often raised its standard against Australian opponents.

"They've got an exceptional back row. Ben McCalman's form this season has been the best I've seen him play, and there's Matt Hodgson on the ball," Pocock said.

Meanwhile, Reds second-rower Rob Simmons said his team was trying to focus on getting a win against the Chiefs at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night, rather than making it all about departing veterans James Horwill and Will Genia.
