Photographers win awards
TWO Whitsunday photographers have won awards for their photography skills at the Cannon Australian Professional Photography Awards held in Sydney last week.
Hamilton Island Weddings Photography manager Paul Cincotta received four silver merits for his work. Three of Cincotta’s winning entires were of weddings and one was taken during Hamilton Island Race Week last year.
Cincotta has won a number of awards in the competition in the past four years. Iconic Bride Photography’s Norina Jane also received two silver awards and one merit for her wedding photography.
This is the third year she has entered the APPA competition and three out of her four entries received an award. People who enter in the competition can accrue award points which count towards the achievement of associate and master status within AIPP.
Norina Jane is on course to receive her associate status next year, from there her next goal is her masters.
Professional photographers from Australia and New Zealand compete for a number of industry awards by submitting four images which are judged by a panel of their peers.
The Canon Australian Institute of Professional Photography APPA attracts hundreds of entries. Each year award winning images are published in an awards book.
