Pig out! Apparently it's International Bacon Day
PEOPLE around the world will be pigging out for the next 24 hours as the join in the swinefest known as International Bacon Day.
The day is marked in Wikipedia's list of unofficial observances.
Snouts will be firmly in the trough in the United States, where Bacon Day celebrations typically include social gatherings to enjoy feasts with dishes containing bacon including breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts and drinks.
It appears the United States are quite fond of their food days. They have more than 175 days related to food or drink awareness.
Other days include National I Want Butterscotch Day, National Pigs in a Blanket Day, International Hamburger Day and National Ice Cream Day.
