PJs will help children
IF YOU love nothing more than spending the day in your pyjamas, why not do it and support a worthy cause at the same time.
Tomorrow that is exactly what the Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre will do and they are encouraging other businesses and organisations to jump on board.
Community development officer at the centre, Tamara Noble said all staff would be in their pyjamas to support the Pyjama Foundation which gives children in foster care a chance to positively impact their future through learning, life skills and confidence.
"Everyone just has to bring in a gold coin donation and all the funds raised will go directly to the foundation," she said.
"We usually go to the Whitsunday Shopping Centre and walk around with donation tins so if it's not raining we'll be doing that."
Ms Noble said the centre fully supported the foundation to help children overcome potential barriers.
"We have a strong commitment to help all children in the community reach their full potential," she said.
"Participating is our way to continuing to assist in these essential programs."
The centre hoped they wouldn't be the only ones participating in the "comfy" fun.
"We're also inviting other organisations and businesses to come on board," Ms Noble said.
"We're all just coming together to wear our pyjamas."
