A HOST of past players and supporters will be on hand to help celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Whitsunday Bloods double premiership win in 1983 at the Whitsunday Sports Park this Saturday.

All five Whitsunday Sea Eagles teams are in action this Saturday and the entire day will have a distinct 'Bloods' feel to it with the senior team set to run out in replica jumpers against the Eastern Swans, the team the Bloods beat in the 1983 decider.

The Whitsunday Bloods was the local AFL team for many years before they left the competition and were replaced by the Sea Eagles in 1998. Their senior and reserve teams were both crowned champions of the Mackay competition in 1983.

Reunion organiser Barb Adamson said Saturday was all about celebrating their fantastic achievement two decades ago.

"There is going to be a lot of different things happening on the day and we are hoping to see lots of past players and supporters come down. At half time of the main game we will invite all our past players onto the pitch for a longest kick competition," she said.

"Games kick off at 8.15am with the under-13s and the best-on-ground for each of our three junior teams will be presented with a special Bloods jersey by a team member of the 1983 premiership team."

There will be live music and a special dinner at the club house following the game and all are welcome to come along and join in the celebrations.

The seniors are coming off an outstanding 50-point away win over Baker's Creek on Saturday and the reserves also got up, trouncing Mackay 12.8.80-4.4.28.

This Saturday the reserves game gets underway at 1pm before the seniors run out at about 3pm.
