THE junior cricketers continued their twenty20 fixtures on Friday, led by the under-15s.

The Cyclones challenged the Taipans at the Kelsey Creek Cricket Grounds, with the former winning the toss and electing to bat.

Mat Shoebridge (17) combined with Jayde Lane (28) for an enterprising partnership at the top, leading the Cyclones to 2/50 from 10 overs.

Tidy bowling from the Taipans dried up the runs, leaving the Cyclones with 95 from their innings.

Warwick Watts (1/10) and Bill O'Loughlin 1/12) were the best for Taipans.

In reply Howard McDonald was dismissed cheaply in the first over, however Mat Hansen (26) and Blake Hardy-Young (28) went about their business in positive fashion.

The Taipans' middle order waxed and wanned but ultimately Bill O'Loughlin (13), Warwick Watts (11) and Jay O'Loughlin (7) led the team to 115.

In the under-12s the Proserpine Reds faced off against the Blues in a 20-over match.

The Blues batted first, struggling to 4/25 after 10 overs thanks to some disciplined Reds' bowling.

Corey Dwyer (12), Max Watson (12) and Greg Chapman (10) helped the Blues to 62 from their 20 overs with some lusty late hitting.

In reply Ian Frederickson (16) and Drayer Smith (12) got off to a flyer.

Solid contributions from Jack Pini (12), Jack Watson (17) and Joel Frederickson (13) helped the Reds pass their target in the 15th over, ultimately finishing with 87.

The Blues' best bowlers were Nick Hansen, Lui Archer and Lachlan Edmondson.

The mini cricketers had a full game of double-wicket cricket, with each batting pair allocated two overs.

The Have a Go children provided plenty of highlights with their outfield antics.
