Mum pleads for return of 2yo son
TOOWOOMBA mother Darrlena Mogg yesterday made an emotional plea for the return of her two-year-old son who has been missing for six days.
Ms Mogg has previously trusted John William Adams, 35, with the care of her son. However, on this occasion, he has failed to return the child.
Mr Adams and the boy were last seen leaving Ms Mogg’s Geddes Street home, in South Toowoomba, about 8.30am last Wednesday.
Mr Adams was driving a black 2004 Ford Falcon XR6 which police believe the pair is living in.
The registration number is 562 IJP.
Ms Mogg, 26, yesterday hoped for the safe return of her son, whose name police are not releasing.
“I really miss my son and want my son back,” she said.
Toowoomba Police Child Protection Investigation Unit officer-in-charge Paul Hart said police were concerned for the welfare of Mr Adams and the toddler.
“It is out of character for him to not return the child to his mother,” Detective Senior Sergeant Hart said.
“It’s been a very cold weekend and obviously not ideal weather conditions to be living in a car.”
Family and friends have not been able to contact Mr Adams.
Police believe the pair is still in the Toowoomba area and are urging members of the public to be on the lookout for the car, particularly in car parks, camping areas or quiet streets.
Anyone who may have sighted the car or Mr Adams travelling with the child is urged to call Toowoomba Police CPIU on 4631 6355 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Police are also asking Mr Adams to make contact with them.
