Police hunting duo after tomahawk used in home invasion

POLICE are appealing for public assistance following an assault at a home in Waterford West yesterday morning.

Initial investigations suggest just after 8am two men, one armed with a tomahawk, entered a house on Clearview Street and assaulted two male residents.

The pair then fled the scene in a silver four-wheel-drive.

A 38-year-old male resident was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition for treatment of severe head injuries.

A 42-year-old male resident received treatment at the scene for bruising to his face.

One man is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, approximately 185cm tall, aged in his late teens with hair tied back in a ponytail.

The second man is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 160cm tall, aged in his late teens and wearing a baseball cap.

Investigations are continuing.
