Police investigate death of Midge Point man

A 79-YEAR-OLD Midge Point man died outside his home this morning after an incident involving a truck.

Senior Constable David Nicholas said Police were still unable to say with certainty what had happened.

He said the truck had been unloading timber outside the man's property.

"We don't know how but somehow he has been run over by the truck as it was about to leave," he said.

Constable Stewart Goodall from Proserpine Police said he arrived at the accident around 11.10am to find the driver of the truck "quite upset and distraught."

An officer from the Mackay Forensic Crash Unit is currently investigating the man's death.
