Police need witnesses to Ravenshoe tragedy to come forward
POLICE investigating the seemingly freak accident that caused a cafe explosion at a far north Queensland cafe a week ago, are calling for witnesses who may be able to help.
Two people, including cafe manager Nicole Nyholt, 37, were killed as a result of the fireball caused by a ute smashing into gas bottles on the side of the Serves Your Right diner in Ravenshoe a week ago.
An 82-year-old woman died in the evening following the explosion, after she was taken to Brisbane for treatment.
Ms Nyholt died on Friday morning.
Both were treated at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
Police want to talk to those witnesses who appear in video footage of the incident outside the cafe immediately before the explosion.
Investigators also want to hear from those who might have spoken to the driver of the 2004 model Toyota Landcruiser ute with dog cage on the morning before the tragedy.
