Police officer allegedly stabbed with scissors

A POLICE officer has been rushed to hospital after he was allegedly stabbed in the neck with scissors by a man at a shopping centre in Brisbane's southern suburbs today.

The incident happened at Inala Civic Centre about 2.30pm with a man taken into custody about 45 minutes later.

A Queensland Police spokesman said the officer has been taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with non life threatening injuries however will require surgery.
