Beaconsfield death: Police maintain crime probe
POLICE are investigating the death of a 39-year-old woman in Beaconsfield.
A man has been released without charges, following the woman's death on Friday.
Emergency services were called to a house in Ellul Ct about 10.15pm, where the woman was found with serious injuries to her neck.
Detective Acting Inspector Jeremy Novosel, from Mackay Criminal Investigation Branch, said emergency crews treated the woman, who died at the residence.
"We anticipate the post mortem will be done over the next couple of days and then we should have an indication as a result of that," he said.
Det Act Insp Novosel said the man, who was found on premises, was known to the woman.
However he would not say how they knew each other.
"(He) has been liaising with investigators and (has) been given advice from his legal (representative)," he said.
"We always have to treat these investigations as suspicious, until we prove otherwise."
Det Act Insp Novosel said police had spoken to "a lot" of witnesses.
"We like to get as much background and as much information as we can, leading up to the circumstances," he said.
Det Act Insp Novosel said police would continue to treat the house as a crime scene.
"Police will maintain guard and constant vigilance until release back to the owners of the premises," he said.
