Queensland police today released CCTV footage of a man who was in the area at the time.

The video shows a man wearing a hooded jumper walking past cars in one direction.

Shortly afterwards he is seen running quickly in the opposite direction.

Detective Acting Superintendent Craig Morrow said members of the public may recognise the man featured in the vision.

"The vision depicts a man in the moments leading up to the homicide, and the moments following the murder," Superintendent Morrow said.

"We're hoping a member of the public may recognise the man, his clothing or his physical movements as he walked along St George St and Beenleigh Rd in the early hours of October 25."

A $250,000 reward has already been offered for anyone with information that leads to a conviction.

Any accomplice who did not commit the crime may also receive indemnity. Police have not yet indicated if the murder was a targeted attack or a case of mistaken identity.
